Holocaust Memorial Threshold Inaugurated in Edineț with Participation of Chabad Emissary

On October 21, 2026, a Stolperschwelle memorial threshold was inaugurated in Edineț, northern Moldova, in memory of Jewish victims of Nazi persecution and deportation during the Holocaust.

The ceremony was held as part of the commemorations marking 85 years since the beginning of the Holocaust in Bessarabia, with representatives of the Jewish community, local authorities, and the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in attendance.

Rabbi Shneur Zalman Tiefenbrun, a Chabad emissary in Moldova, traveled from Kishinev to participate in the ceremony and recited a memorial prayer in memory of the victims.

Flowers were laid at the memorial as a tribute to those who perished.
