On October 2, the Sukkot Festival was held at Bender Fortress for the fifth consecutive year, continuing a tradition that brings together families, young people and guests from both banks of the Dniester.
Participants learned about the traditions and customs of Sukkot, took part in workshops and children’s activities, visited exhibitions and photo areas, and enjoyed a varied cultural and holiday program.
Among those taking part and addressing the gathering were Alexander Bilinkis, Chairman of the Jewish Community of the Republic of Moldova; Mark Finkelzon, Chairman of the Jewish Community of Bender; and Chief Rabbi of Moldova Rabbi Menachem Mendel Axelrod.
The festival was organized by the Jewish Community of Bender and the Jewish Community of the Republic of Moldova, with the support of local and Jewish partners and the participation of Chabad-Lubavitch of Bender. For the fifth year, the celebration at the fortress has brought together Jewish tradition, family activities and meaningful connections among communities in the region.
