This week at Chabad Children’s Studio, we began preparing for the beautiful holiday of Shavuot — the celebration of the Giving of the Torah.
Our young participants became actors, explorers, and storytellers as they brought to life the story of the four mountains. While the tallest and strongest mountains boasted about their greatness, it was the humble Mount Sinai that was chosen to receive the greatest gift of all — the Torah.
During the “Torah Scroll Mission,” the children carefully carried a Torah scroll through an obstacle course, learning in a fun and meaningful way that they too are the guardians of our precious tradition. Each child then created their own blooming Mount Sinai from modelling clay — a symbol of humility, beauty, and inner strength.
The older children enjoyed a lively learning challenge, solving riddles, playing “True or False,” and discussing the Ten Commandments — timeless messages that continue to guide us today.
The session ended with a sweet and creative activity for both groups: making an “Edible Mount Sinai.” Beautiful, delicious, and full of meaning, the children took their creations home to share with their families — together with the story of the humble mountain and the upcoming holiday of Shavuot.
