Boris Yakirevitch, a member of the Jewish community in Kishinev, the capital of Moldova, has celebrated his eightieth birthday.
In honor of his special day, he received a surprise visit at his home from the Chabad Lubavitch Welfare Center in Kishinev, which is run by the Chief Rabbi of Moldova Rabbi Zalman Abelsky. Mr. Yakirevitch was very touched by the visit, in which they celebrated his birthday with him and gave him an expensive gift from his brother. Everyone drank a lechaim and gave him joyful blessings for the Jewish month of Adar, which is known to be a happy time.
The visit took place as part of a special birthday program, when Chabad volunteers visit members of the community on their birthdays.
