Today, behind the Chabad synagogue building in Chisinau, together with members of the community, we fulfilled the mitzvah of Birkat Ha’Ilanot — the special blessing recited over fruit trees during their blossoming season.
What is this mitzvah?
It is a unique blessing recited once a year when one sees fruit trees at the beginning of their bloom (usually during the month of Nissan). The blessing expresses gratitude to G-d for creating beautiful trees for human benefit.
